Title Sequences

A title sequence is a way that films present the title of the film, stars of the film and key production.

Discrete Title Sequence:
This is also known as a mini film. One of the best examples for this is James Bond: Skyfall. It is a bunch of separately filmed clips that are all put together and played before the film starts.  This usually sets the tone for the rest of the movie.








Narrative Openings:
They are an easy and effective way to get the audience intrigued from the start. It can give the audience a better understanding of the start of the film.











Credits over a blank screen:
These are the simplest kind of opening of a film. It also comes across as the cheapest as it doesn't require any actors or special cameras for scenery.












Stylised:
This kind of title sequence requires a lot of editing. Most of the editing is used within the texts, almost as if its bringing it to life.
