shot types and lighting

With the crime/drama genre, they use nearly to all shot types to create suspense throughout, lighting is the same.  In our film, Katie and I planned to use all the shots as this would convey skill and make a better outcome to the film. The film shown a lot of closeups as this shown the emotion of the characters like the Detective, The doctor and the victim. By showing the emotion through close ups it creates atmospheres in the film.

We wanted to get the lighting perfect as two of our scenes need it to be tense. These are scenes 1 and 4. We put a blue gel over the camera lens as this dulled the mood of the morgue. It also made it look more like a morgue from the movies. We did try with blue gel outside in the tent as it would give the audience a feel for the police lights which would useably be at the scene however we discovered it worked loads better without it due to the awkward natural lighting.
