1.
For film, identifying your target audience is quite difficult. However a way of doing so is by looking in a local newspaper with has the same subject or genre as you film. This would mean that the people have the same interests as your film meaning they are your target audience.

2.
Scary Movie:
Scary Movie is a spoof of most horror movies going. But it was manly based on 'Scream' and 'I know what you did last summer'.
The audiences age for 18-30. I think it is this big an age gap because it is based on films based in the 90's however contains humour that would be funny to the age group. I think it is manly aimed at males because it contains gore. This is more based on the stereotypical male more than the female. It was filmed in the United States.

Not another teen movie:
I feel that this movie would have a close target audience to 'Scary Movie'. The audience profiles age for this film would 15-24. I feel it is this age because it is funnier then scary movie but doesn't contain any gore. This saying, I still think that it would attract more males then females as the story is based more on a male trying to grab the attention of a female. The film again was made in the United states of America.

Demographic
The target audience for our teen comedy film is aimed at the ages of 13-18 years of age. Most of our audience will be females. Our main character is a white female so we are aiming are film towards white teens. The filming will take place in Cornwall so are target audience will mostly be based in Cornwall. In Cornwall, they white population is 95.7% of the whole Cornish population. This is the reason it is manly aimed at white British. Cornwall aswell is a very poor part of Britain.
Physiographic:
Our main character in our movie, is someone who is aspiring to become popular. So is someone who thinks that if she isn't popular then she has no friends. She is someone desperately wanting to be accepted by her peers and the people around her. Also, with her name, she wants a power image which is wanted by her peer friendship group. And wanting a status which sees her as a popular person in her school.

Demographic: demographics is the study population based on factors such as age, race and sex, among others. Governments, corporations and non-government organizations use demographics to learn more about a population's characteristics for many purposes, including policy development and economic market research.

Physiographic: Psychographics is the study of personality, values, opinions, attitudes, interests, and lifestyles. Because this area of research focuses on interests, attitudes, and opinions, psychographic factors are also called IAO variables.

  1. Some solid research - more based on the demographics than psychographics. Would be good to see more on that side of it please.
